The Tennessee Nuclear Energy Advisory Council was recently created by Gov. Bill Lee to position Tennessee as a national leader for nuclear energy innovation and advancement. Among the governor’s appointees is Middle Tennessee Electric President/CEO Chris Jones who will serve as the council’s utilities representative.
“I am honored to be selected and will work to represent all local power companies and consumers in Tennessee as we seek ways to continue to expand and develop clean and efficient electricity sources for our communities,” says Jones.
Each appointee brings a broad range of industry experience that will build upon the state’s legacy in nuclear innovation and drive continued investment to create a nuclear energy ecosystem for the future of Tennessee, including business development, government relations and stewardship of natural resources.
Together, the council members will work to make Tennessee a national leader in energy independence and deliver continued economic growth with safe, reliable and clean nuclear energy for generations to come.
