This principle doesn’t just apply to individuals; it’s the foundation of how we operate at Gibson Electric Membership Corporation.
At Gibson Electric and Gibson Connect (our broadband subsidiary), we pride ourselves on providing our member-owners with reliable energy and broadband. After thoughtful and careful research and deliberation, we decided to move our electric accounts to the National Information Solutions Cooperative (NISC). We have worked with NISC as the software platform for Gibson Connect for the past five years and have been pleased with the product and service. We chose NISC because we felt it offered the best platform for broadband, and we desired to have both our electric and broadband accounts on a single platform. This change will ultimately streamline operations, enhance efficiency and improve your experience as a member-owner.
We know this transition has come with challenges, and we apologize for the inconvenience and frustration it has caused. Since our “go-live” date of Dec. 9, 2024, we’ve worked through several billing issues. These, on top of extremely cold weather, which increased energy use and caused bills to rise, created concern. While navigating these issues, we did not disconnect members’ service or charge late fees. Even so, the problems caused some members to lose confidence in us.
As your not-for-profit, member-owned and member-controlled cooperatives, we are here to serve you well, and we are committed to earning back your full trust. We are confident that moving our electric and broadband accounts to one platform is an opportunity to provide you with a better customer service experience going forward.
Our employees work tirelessly to resolve issues and answer your questions as quickly and thoroughly as possible. Their professionalism and commitment to providing top-notch service is a testament to their genuine concern for you and the communities we serve. We can’t thank them enough.
For nearly nine decades, Gibson Electric member-owners have trusted us to provide their power.
