For our latest Shutterbug Photography Contest, The Tennessee Magazine asked our readers to send us images that show how they “Get Unplugged.” Nashville Tennessean staff photographer Lacy Atkins was our guest judge and with our staff sifted through nearly 1,250 entries to find the winners.
Whether it’s hiking a trail, relaxing at the beach, riding horses, spending family time together, camping lakeside or a taking a Sunday drive with man’s best friend riding shotgun, it’s clear that our readers definitely know how to get away from it all.
The winning photographers combine a grasp of technical fundamentals and the patience it takes to capture the perfect moment. Each winning image combines the elements of strong subject matter, good composition and interesting lighting.
