Assignment for December
Subject: Survival — Draw or paint something that depicts the concept of survival. People can survive a lot of difficult things. What helps us survive? You can draw your picture as if it’s a movie poster or book cover, or you can simply paint a portrait of someone who has gone through something difficult and survived to tell the heroic story.
Three age categories: 1 to 9, 10 to 14 and 15 to 18 years old. Each group will have first-, second- and third-place winners.
Media: Drawing or painting on 81⁄2-by-11-inch unlined paper. We encourage the use of color.
