13th Annual Boro BBQ Festival

Spring in Tennessee means it’s time for smoky aromas, sizzling grills, and the sounds of Southern rock filling the air as the Boro BBQ Festival returns to celebrate its 13th year of bringing the community together through great food and music.

The Murfreesboro Breakfast Rotary Club is proud to present its 13th annual celebration of community, the Boro BBQ Festival, held on Saturday April 26, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Hop Springs Park. The event is free and open to the public. Festivities and food begin at 10 a.m. The event is proudly sponsored by MTE (Boss Hog Sponsor), Swanson Companies, and Dick & Martha Curl.

KCBS BBQ Competition

The Dr. George Smith KCBS BBQ Brawl brings together professional and backyard competitors from across the southeast US who will haul their smokers into Murfreesboro, prepare rubs, bastes, and sauces, then smoke chicken and ribs to perfection in Rutherford County’s only KCBS-sanctioned event. The total purse is $6,200.

People’s Choice Competition

KCBS is the national BBQ championship authority, and they say the public can’t eat the competition meats…but the Breakfast Rotary found a way to let the public judge the cookers! For $15 (tickets purchased on-site), attendees can taste six 2oz pulled pork samples (that’s 12 ounces of pork when the average pork BBQ sandwich includes just 3 ounces!) and vote for their favorite. Competitors covet this award higher than certified KCBS judges!

Live Music All Day Long

Get ready for an incredible lineup featuring the Jeff Woods Band and The Midnight Riders – Tribute to The Allman Brothers Band. These talented performers will keep the energy high and the crowd moving throughout the day.

Don’t forget the Food Trucks, Shaved Ice galore!, Craft Vendors, and Family Fun. You’ll be bouncing and petting (barnyard animals) your way to family memories!

The Boro BBQ Festival is the Breakfast Rotary Club’s top annual fundraising event, with proceeds supporting Rutherford County non-profits.
