“21 Yeses” is coming to TPAC’s Johnson Theater Nov. 22-24.
TPAC is partnering with Nashville’s own beloved dance company New Dialect to bring a world premiere work to the stage. Inspired by Hannah Emerson’s poem, “Center of the Universe,” choreographer and founder of Nashville’s New Dialect, Banning Bouldin, and a team of dancers created 21 Yeses around saying “yes.”
Throughout the piece, dancers wield multi-color LED tubes in and out of interlocking group movements and passionate affirmations—a choreography that orchestrates dance and vibrant lighting design simultaneously.
The premiere of this newly expanded and unique evening-length production features novel lighting and production design by Nashville’s Michael Brown (Bon Iver) to create an experience where motion and light capture and release one another inside the awe of an endless distance.
