Fish Fry – Union Community Center

The Union Community Center is hosting a Fish Fry with live music by The Back Lot Pickers on April 29 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. They do not charge a fee for anything, but donations are always welcome.

The community center was the former Union School which was built in 1935 (the third Union School in the area). The school closed in 1953, and the building and grounds were deeded by the school board to the community. It has been used as a community center for many years and has undergone several renovations. As they are a nonprofit organization, they are funded by donations from folks in the area. Most of the restoration and work on the building has been done by their skilled and talented members.
