Hatch Show Print Block Party
Fri., July 15, 10:00 am-12:00 pm
$12 – $60As one of the oldest poster and design shops in America, Hatch Show Print is still printing show posters for musicians, bands and performers, one at a time, via letterpress printing. During the Block Party, participants can revel in the creative atmosphere of Hatch Show Print as they work with ink and the shop’s image blocks to create a design that can be hand-printed onto paper, cloth bags, tea towels or a t-shirt. The instructor will cover the basics of laying out images, with consideration given to creating layers and using color. Attendees will learn the best way to sling the ink and roll it out with brayers, making each piece by hand. All materials provided, but participants may bring their own t-shirt.
