Shutterbug Showcase “Rule of Thirds” winners

For our latest Shutterbug Photography Contest, The Tennessee Magazine asked our readers to send us images that use the composition technique of “Rule of Thirds.” Nashville Tennessean staff photographer Lacy Atkins was our guest judge and with our staff sifted through nearly 1,000 entries to find the winners.

A strong composition is just one element to making a successful photograph. These winning photographers used the rule of thirds to make dynamic images of their subjects. Each winning image combines the elements of strong subject matter, good composition and interesting lighting.
